Mo:delic Arts
An artist with many expressions, Vanese Smith also creates visual designs as Mo:delic Arts (Modern Psychedelic). Initially designing visuals for herself since 2015 for live performances, in 2020, she began offering her visual expertise to multidisciplinary projects, including live multi-camera feeds and
original motion graphics.
Vanese's art is inspired by geometric shapes, psychedelia, fantasy, nature, and architecture. She creatively uses many layers of collage, illustration, photography and digital video. Recent visual projections include presentations at Illuminarium Toronto, the Music Gallery, NUMUS concerts, Women From Space Festival, and LinkMusicLab. Vanese was also highlighted in Wire Magazine for contributing to a stand out performance in collaboration with live musicians.
